Verse 18 specifically emphasises the psalmist's commitment to God. The statement "Then we will not turn away from you" reflects a desire for true repentance and a turning back to God's ways. It shows a recognition that their current situation may be a result of straying from God's path, and they long to return to a faithful relationship with Him.

The word "revive" in this context means to bring back to life or to restore strength and vitality.

1. Rediscovering the Church's Purpose:

Revival serves as a wake-up call for the church, reminding it of its fundamental mission. The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 underscores the importance of making disciples and sharing the Gospel. The church's purpose is not to entertain or attract crowds but to glorify God and fulfil the Great Commission. By reviving a focus on this core mission, the church can regain its spiritual significance by raising believers that will impact people, the world, with enduring messages.
